Twin City Classic - August 2008

Twin City Youth Soccer in Winston Salem NC invites you to take part in the 23^rd Annual Twin City Classic in August 2008. For 22 years, the Twin City Classic has been a great way to kick-off the fall season. The tournament is open to 1st & 2nd Division Classic, U10 Academy and Challenge teams from USYS State Associations. We offer multiple divisions at each age group to insure a quality experience for all participants in the tournament divisions as well as the U10 Academy Festival division. We are expecting 180 teams from NC and surrounding states to join us this year and hope that you will be one of them.

Tournament Facts

When:
August 15th, 16th, 17th, 2008 - with a few games played Friday Night

Who:

Boys: U10 (8/1/98) to U14 (8/1/94)
Girls: U10 (8/1/98) to U18 (8/1/90)

U10's will play 6v6
U11's & U12's will play 8v8
U13's & Up will play 11v11

1st and 2nd Division Classic, U10 Academy and Challenge teams from USYS Members and Affiliates. US Club Soccer and AYSO affiliates should contact the tournament director if interested in attending; if there is adequate interest re-sanctioning will be considered.

Where:

All tournament matches will be held on the 29 full size fields at the following locations: BB&T Soccer Park, Advance NC; Sara Lee Soccer Complex, Winston Salem NC; or Hine Park Soccer Fields, Winton Salem NC.

Payment can be made by Check, Money order or Credit Card and must be received before your team will be considered for acceptance. Entry fees for applications received after 7/10/2008 must be made via Credit Card.

Team Check In:

Team Check-in will be held at BB&T Soccer Park on Friday night 8/15/2008 from 5:30 to 9:00. Field check-ins are available, but only if arrangements are made with the Tournament Directors in advance. Teams will need to present the following documents; all documents must be for 2008/2009 season:

· USYSA/State Certified Match Rosters (4 Copies – one with original stamp)

· USYSA/State Certified Laminated Player Cards for All Players.

· USYSA/State Notarized Medical Release Forms for All Players.

· State Approved Permission to Travel Forms

Hotels:

Our Travel Partner, Gale Adouli and her team of travel professionals at Great Getaways have secured hotel rooms in Winston Salem at a special rate for our event. All teams needing hotel rooms for the Twin City Classic are required to make their housing arrangements through Great Getaways. Please follow this link for more information on the booking process.

Awards:

Each player on the Championship and Runner-up teams will receive a custom tournament medallion. A team trophy will be presented to the Championship and Runner-up teams. All players will receive a participation gift from the Twin City Classic.

Communication from the Twin City Classic will be via email, text message and this website only, so team contact, team manager, team coach should confirm that all contact information is correct in Got Soccer and check email and this website often, please.
