  TDP Juniors Academy  Challenge Classic
General Introduces soccer in a playful way. For players learning the game of soccer.  Focuses on player development rather than team results.   For players who want to move from recreation- level soccer to a higher level of play, coaching. This program is for the most advanced players who want to play at  the highest competitive level.

Team selection None No tryouts. All registered players will be placed on a team provided that a parent coach is available.  Selected by the DOC staff in a tryout session. Each age group will form a pool of players from which DOC staff will select teams for each game.  Professional coaches evaluate players during tryouts. Parent-coaches select players based on evaluator ratings.  Entirely team coach and DOC selection. Teams will be made up of top players each year selected during tryouts.
Playing time 1 hour, 15 minutes All players will play at least one half of each game.  An attempt will be made to ensure that all players receive equitable field time. All players receive a minimum of 1/2 game assuming attendance and effort at practice. No minimum. Coach's decision.
Competition None Once a week among other recreation teams within the program and possibly within Triad. Most training games will be within the Triad. Some games may require travel to Charlotte or Asheville. Competition against other clubs within the Triad area in the Triad Challenge League, typically within the Piedmont Triad area. Strong competition from across the state with some of the top soccer players in the age     group statewide.
