TWINS JUNIORS SOCCER PROGRAM GENERAL INFORMATION

PROGRAM SUMMARY

The Twins Junior program is a strictly recreational soccer program in which we hope to provide the best learning environment for your kids to enjoy the game of soccer. Our program will have smaller teams to ensure that kids get more one-on-one time with their coach and more touches on the ball. In the Twins Junior program there will be no pressure to score goals or to win games but rather an emphasis on having fun while at the same time instilling a love and respect for the game. Our goals are to provide your child with the opportunity to reach his or her potential (and to develop a healthy, active lifestyle) while at the same time teaching them teamwork, responsibility and commitment.
NEW FOR 2008-09 - TCYSA is proud to offer Twins Junior Academy to its U09-U11 players. This program includes a second weekly practice conducted by TCYSA's professional coaching staff in addition to the weekly team practice and Saturday game.  Enrollment in the Junior Academy is limited and costs an additional $100 per player.

 
THIS PROGRAM IS OFFERED IN BOTH THE SPRING AND FALL FOR THE FOLLOWING AGE GROUPS:
U06 Players born between 8/1/02 – 7/31/03
U07 Players born between 8/1/01 – 7/31/02
U08 Players born between 8/1/00 – 7/31/01
U09 Players born between 8/1/99 – 7/31/00
U10 Players born between 8/1/98 – 7/31/99
U11 Players born between 8/1/97 - 7/31/98

 

SEASON DATES
Important Fall 2008 Season Dates
July 1 Start of Online registration
August 10 End of regular registration.  Those registering after this date will be charged a $10 late fee and placed on a waiting list.
TBD Coaching clinic
Week of Aug. 25 Practices start this week (includes games for U6 & U7)
September 6 First games for U8 to U11, with game dates of 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25.

Note:  Every effort will be made to make up cancelled games, but due to previous commitments for city fields and/or continued poor weather, we cannot guarantee that all games will be made up.

ORGANIZATION
U6 & U7 Practice/play only one evening a week. There will be a 30-minute practice followed by a 30-minute game.
U8 - U11 Practice once a week for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Games will be held on Saturdays.

 

All Practices and Games will be played at Jefferson Middle, Speas Elementary, or First Assembly Christian School fields.

U6 & U7 will play at Jefferson Middle School
U8, U9, & U11 will play at Speas Elementary School and First Assembly Christian School

U6 & U7
 U6 & U7 age groups will play 3v3 with teams consisting of 5 players maximum.
Practices will be held for 30-minutes followed by a 30-minute game to be played on fields 30 x 25 yards.
Tentative game nights :
U6 Boys – Monday starting at 6 PM
U6 Girls – Tuesday starting at 6 PM
U7 Boys – Wednesday starting at 6 PM
U7 Girls – Thursday starting at 6 PM

U8 - U11
Our U8 age group will play 4v4 with no goalie. Teams will consist of 6 players maximum.
Practices will be held at Speas once a week for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Games will be played on Saturday at Speas on 30 x 30 fields.

Our U9 - U11 age groups will play 6v6 including goalie. Teams will consist of 10 players maximum.
Practices will be held once a week for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes at either Speas or First Assembly School. Games will be played on Saturday at those same sites on  30 x 30 fields.

U8 -U11 practice nights will be the choice of the individual coach. When registering please indicate in the comments section what night you can or cannot practice.

We look to parents to volunteer as coaches or assistant coaches.

COST
U6 & U7 $60 program fee with $15 uniform fee. Uniforms consist of t-shirt, socks and shorts and are multi seasonal
U8 - U10 $75 program fee with $30 uniform fee. Uniforms consist of a blue shirt, white shirt, shorts and socks and are multi seasonal
U9 -U11       Jr. Academy $175 program fee with $30 uniform fee. Uniforms consist of a blue shirt, white shirt, shorts and socks and are multi seasonal.

SPECIAL UNIFORM NOTE:  U8 AND UP AGE GROUPS NEED NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER UNIFORM SET UNLESS THEIR UNIFORM HAS BEEN DAMAGED, LOST OR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
