TCYSA Challenge News!!
I’m sure everyone is excited about getting the new Challenge season underway and I look forward to my new role as Challenge Director here at Twins. As you may know our Challenge teams play in the Triad Challenge League or TCL for short. At the moment, there is a website change taking place and the TCL will have a new web address by September 3rd. So, please familiarize yourself with this new site once it is up and running.
A new and exciting program under the Challenge umbrella has been the inception of a new “academy style” program for our U11 and U12 Challenge teams. In cooperation with GUSA, PSA, and KSA we are collaborating to address the need of how to manage our competitive environments that are targeted to develop players. Often times clubs will try to train players with true development in mind but come game day all thoughts turn to winning and losing as opposed to teaching and learning how to compete and be successful. The clubs involved have the opportunity to make adjustments and changes in how the game is played, not only by subtle rule changes when compared to Classic/TCL mandates on player movement within a club and registration restrictions. Player cards will be managed through US Club Soccer which allows coaches and players more flexibility and ease of player movement to find the best situation for that player.
Congrats to Jonathan Ave's u16 Lady Twins Red team for winning the Twin City Classic, and to Matt Eddy's u18 Lady Twins Red for finishing as a Finalist in the Twin City Classic.
I look forward to working with our fine Challenge staff coaches and all of our players here at Twins. Players, remember to play with conviction and desire and have fun with this great game we play.
