GK Program Has It’s Eyes on Development Again For 2013-14.
With the overwhelming success of the goalkeeping program last year, which saw many of the Twins top Keepers move on to Fusion, the focus of this year has again shifted back, toward the individual Development of each GK still at Twins. Our big goal this year in the program is creating a “who’s next” mentality among our Goalkeepers, as they had the opportunity to train and work with those that have moved on.
The goal of the program is to have our players not only ready to perform/excel at the current level they are in, but to prepare them for the next level based on the goals they have set for themselves.
Players who are regularly involved in the program this year should develop greatly, from the highly technical and tactical curriculum that will be offered this year. I am excited to have the ability this year to do game evaluations, a vital developmental tool to track if the things being learned on the training ground, are being applied on the field. I will be looking to do an early and end of season evaluation, this coupled with the players technical home work (if completed) should set the stage nicely for the success of not just our GK’s, but for our club as a whole.
Do I have lofty goals for our GK’s? Maybe, but the success of my GK’s, is as much up to them individually to do the work, as it is on me to provide the blue print for them. Each GK in the program already knows whatever they are willing to put into it, I have promised to meet them half way, and that their success will only be the result of hard work and effort on their part.
So, I hope you all stay tuned in to find out “Who’s Next”!!!!!
